Why is sugar so good?

I have been battling some health problems
for the last few months.
Changes in my diet have helped me feel better.

Unfortunately, sugar is on my
no-no, never to eat again list.

This has been very difficult for me,
as I am a sugar addict...love, love, love it!

I have definitely felt better with each passing week
of consuming less and less sugary treats.

Today, I decided I just had to have a little something.

A little chocolate....

Was it worth it?

Not really...I have a raging headache now,
but for a few brief minutes...
it was Heaven!

I suppose you should be grateful for the raging headache - it shows that sugar really is doing you no good at all. The trick is to try and alter your thinking so that when you see a beautiful little cake like that you just think of illhealth and misery on a plate! When you've mastered that, please let me know how you did it! xxx

This seems to be a common problem. Rarely do I get the headaches but sinus congestion which leads to coughing and coughing and coughing...I will eliminate it along with any kind of refined flour for months, and then slip, which always leads to a landslide. A frustrating cycle for sure.

I have a very low tolerance for sugar. It makes me extremely I'll if I consumer more than 5 grams per serving. So to let myself have rewards now and then I use the Weight Watchers teaching that nothing tastes better than that first bite and so I only have one bite. That usually takes care of my craving and I don't have to go without if everyone else is having dessert.
