Back from Alaska-two week stashbusting report

I've been gone to Alaska for the last week and missed a report. You know I bought fabric (and patterns) while I was there......

Fabric in this week: 7 yards
Fabric in YTD: 65 yards

Fabric used YTD : 90 yards

I guess I better start some laundry, hug the kids/grandkids, and get sewing!

I won!

I won...I won...I won....
I've never won a quilt competition before...some seconds and thirds, but no first....
Until this week!
I won a $25 gift certificate to my local fabric store...Sew n' Save...how will I spend it?
Below is my quilt, tho I still didn't feel like it was done. I had planned to add some more sea shells to three of the blocks and maybe some more printed words or poems
The photo isn't the greatest, so my quilt, following the theme of Summertime, has:
Sailboat under exploding fireworks, watermelon, flowers, flipflops, starfish, kites flying, the American flag with the Pledge of Allegiance printed out, a sunshine and a pioneer wagon (Utah was settled officially on July 24, 1847.
I've also included the other winners...in the Non Beginner Group with me...
Second: Sandy

Third:Connie

And the one and only entry in the beginners group....

1st: Cathi
Aren't the ladies of my group amazing...alot of competition!
Now, how will I spend my winning, when I made the goal NOT to purchase any new fabric or patterns this year...I feel like I need to give into temptation!

Car show season-Ogden Utah June 2009

My Husband loves his car shows. We went to the annual Ogden 25th Street Car & Motorcycle Show this last Friday. My daughter & her friend James joined us, as well as our son, who had come down from Idaho. I like the car in the background (my Hubby is building one from a kit), but I took the photo above for the cute little girl sign.

I love this paint job....like the car too!

Tho my Hubby would never do it, I like the art deco look of this drivers door.....

This photo is for my hubby...he's thinking of doing a similar color when he paints his car. It's actually a school bus yellow with a pearl overcoat to get a peachy orange color.

I took this photo because it's the same year and make of my Hubbies Chevy and I really like this paint job. I'm sure it's expensive....but he's worth it!
Happy beginning of Summer!

Stashbusting Report
