February UFO Finish!

Here is my February finish for
my 2018 UFO project.

The butterfly block is a test
block from Cynthia England book,
Picture Piecing.

I tried the block to learn Miss England's
technique for landscape quilts. I
recommend trying it...very easy with
wonderful results.

I have quite a few UFO's that only
need quilting and binding, so I am
using each project to practice my
machine quilting.

I enjoyed finishing the blocks into
a wall hanging of my own design.

Design Wall for this week 26 Feb-04 Mar

On my design wall
is my butterfly wall hanging,
which is also my February
UFO Project.

I have sewn and re-sewn this
project multiple times.

The butterfly block is the
test block from Cynthia England book,
"Picture Piecing"

I put the top together by my
own design using 12 blocks.

I will be finish the quilting
and add binding, hopefully
before the end of the month.

And February is almost gone....

Today is my 10 year Blogiversary!

I have not been as dedicated to writing
on my blog as I have been other years,
but I enjoy going back and reading about
various projects and what my life was
a few years ago.

Here's to another 10 years!

I am going to resume work on
an cross-stitch quilt block project.

I am not sure when I began this
stitchery, by I would like to
finish it.

I cleaned out my Studio (somewhat)
over the snowy weekend and have
an entire box of stitchery kits. I
never need to purchase another one
as long as I live....

I did not finish my shawl for the
Ravellinics competition at Ravelry.com

My Husband had surgery, which turned out to be
more complicated and taking care of him turned
out to be more complicated than I had planned.
He is finally on the mend, thank goodness.

Goals for the week:

1.Clean out my Studio some more: Organize
fabric boxes and books.

2.Cross stitch on quilt blocks.

3.Knit on shawl pattern.

I am almost ready to sew

Today is the end of a long
holiday weekend for me.
Normally, I try to get as much
sewing in as possible.

Yup...not this time....

Husband had foot surgery
(long story-bite by a snake...
trauma injury that has now ended
in a second surgery)
My Guy is pretty easy-going even when he isn't
feeling so hot, but it has still been
stressful and lots of getting-feeding-
waiting on him for a few days.
Hopefully, this is the last surgery.

I am still trying to finish out my
butterfly wall hanging for February.

The pattern is from Cynthia England's
landscape book, using her own pattern
on how to piece only using straight lines

I started making blocks to practice,
without any plan on how I was
going to put it together,

I envision a wreath of butterfly blocks.

I hope I can sew my idea up.

Monday Design Wall

I have not posted my
Monday Design Wall
for a long time now,
but I am ready to get
back in the swing of things.

This Week:

I need to cut the remaining
red with white dot
squares (2") to finish the last
two sides of my
Trip Around the World top

Hopefully, I can finish the top
this month and can move on to
the hand quilting step

2nd project:

This is my UFO project for February.

I need to make at least one more
butterfly block and then sew
the top together. I hope to also
quilt and bind it into a nice
wall hanging.

So close...almost finished

I am down to hand sewing the
last two sides of my
Trip Around the World quilt top.

(Sorry for the blurry photo)

When the top is finished, I need to
decide how to hand quilt it.
Any suggestions?

After cutting more squares, it will
be my Slow Sunday Stitching project

I am also a knitter and began my
Ravellenics project for the
Olympics project at Ravelry

I am doing a shawl pattern called
Multnomah by Kate Ray.

It uses sock yarn, which I already
had in my yarn stash. It is
knitting up quickly, though
I have not reached the lace
pattern on the edge yet.
I always slow down when it
comes to lace knitting.

Same ole...same ole....

I am continuing my work on my
Trip Around the World top.

I am on the last row (#43).
One side completed...three to go.

I also choose my February UFO project

I am going to finish my Butterfly Hanging.

I have one more block to piece,
add the embroidery,
piece the top, quilt and bind.

I am not sure if it is going to be a
gift or I am going to keep it for
myself.

What are you working on today?
