I hit the greatest sale, so I'm having a giveaway!

Good Monday morning!

I went to my local Saver's (second hand store)this morning.
Their price tags are color coded.
Each Monday, Saver's has one color that is 99 cents,
plus another color tag that is half off.

I have been stocking up on baby clothes and patterns
for my two granddaughters that will be arriving
in May and June.

I have a little addiction to purses,

so I had to have this Liz Clairborne.
The grand price...99 cents! Love it!

I always come home with some patterns that I won't use.
(They package them in bags of 2-4 patterns)
So, I think I will have a give away.

I have two packages of 2 patterns each.

Giveaway A

These 2 patterns are both size 12-16
Giveaway B

The multi piece pattern is size 8-14
The dress pattern is size 18-22

Please leave a comment on this post of which pattern pair you would prefer.
You will have a second chance to win if you mention my giveaway on your blog-
just add a second comment and let me know about your post.
This giveaway is open to everyone (USA, UK, Canada, Outer Space)

Since my Mom was a fabulous clothes seamstress
and her birthday is this week,
I will draw the 2 winners names on Sunday-March 27th.
(6PM mountain time/USA)

Stash report

No changes...nothing in.....nothing out!

If I would just get the binding done on a couple of tops,
my report would look amazing.
I've done some sewing, but it's little things
that I don't count until completely finished.

Goals for 21-26 March:

Make and Create:

Sew borders on Pink Quilt
Clean up sewing room
Finish dish towel embroidery

Health and Weight:

Breakfast every morning
Up my water  consumption
Walk 4 days this week

How are you doing on your stash busting?

715 pieces of fabric and I still need to add borders...

I've been working on my March UFO project

I originally started this quilt project
to use up all the 1930-1950's
reproduction prints I had collected over the years.

Little did I know this quilt would just go
on and on and on......

The top, without borders, fits my queen size bed edge to edge.
I always get stumped on borders.
I have at least 3 yards left of the solid
bubble gum pink fabric I am using for the block centers.
Since I used so many different fabrics in  the blocks,
maybe I need to stick with a really simple border.....

Any suggestions?

Journal Blocks

I have been doing semi well on my
weekly journal blocks for 2011 project.
I thought I would post alot of them here,
but the blocks have taken on a much more personal
note than I thought, so that's why I
have not been posting them.

Here is a photo of one section of a
January block I did about my Dad.

It is my version of his B-17 Bomber Air Plane
he flew during World War 2 from England.
The actual block size is about 2 X 3 inches.

My Dad has been gone for a little over a year now.
I miss him terribly!

Fabric busting report

Yeah...I have been doing some
fabric busting!!

Lots of charity block sewing for my quilt group.
3 QOV blocks  (photo in last post)
7 blue and white blocks.
If you laid them out next to one another,
I think I used a whole yard!

Fabric in this week: 3 yards
Fabric in YTD: 20.5 yards

Fabric out this week: 1 yard
Fabric out YTD: 41 yards

Difference: 20.5 yards

Goals for 14-19 March

Make & Create:

Put Bubble Gum Pink Quilt top together
Plan & make Pink quilt borders
Sew 2 little girl skirts for neighbor

Health & Weight:

Go to 2 water aerobic classes
Go to 2 Zumba classes
Start recording meals in food journal again
Walk with daughter 4 times this week

How's your week going?

Saturday, March 12, 2011

Wow, did I actually sew this week?

I did!

I decided my sanity needed a little sewing time,
so I made three QOV blocks this week.

I also made seven blue and white sampler blocks
for a charity quilt my quilt group is doing this year.
(No photo)

Lastly, I have been crocheting on the afghan again
to use up all those little leftover bits of yarn.

Boomer the Cat has taken to sleeping on the bottom
of the afghan as I crochet.

The weather is pretending to turn Spring like,
but here in Utah, that can mean sunshine and 50 degrees one day
and snow with 35 degrees the next day.
I'm looking forward to the warmer temps soon.

Stash busting report

This week, my report stays the same..

Nothing in-Nothing out, but...

I have good news!

No broken arm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My elbow joint was squished and swollen
so Dr. H thought I had cracked the bone,
but 2nd x-ray showed everything was okey-dokey!

(Happy dance!!!!!!!!!!!)

I did do some sewing this week on my March UFO project,
but not anything inspiring.

Goals for Mar 7-12

Health and Weight Loss:

Attend the gym 4 times this week
No eating out for dinner-homemade only
Wear pedometer everyday
64oz of water per day

Make and Create:

Sew more March UFO project blocks
Purchase fabric for baby blessing gowns
Finish March Birdie BOM block

I'm feeling Spring in the air,
even if the weather girl is predicting snow this week.
Feeling the need for cleaning and sewing!

March UFO

Judy has picked #1 off of the UFO list for March, so

I will be working on my pink 1930-50's project.
I would like to at least get the top done,
and I'll quilt it at another time.

(I guess I better see what the Dr says first about my elbow)

What is your current UFO project?
