I think I am finally caught up!

Battling walking pneumonia for 3 weeks
put me behind in my sewing goals.
I watched lots of mindless TV
and knitted, but no sewing.

Today, I tried to remedy that...

I am participating in Mystery Project #3
over at This and That blog.
Each Monday, Sherri, the pattern designer,
posts the next step in her mystery quilt.

The first three steps were picking out fabric and cutting

Steps 4 & 5 resulted in finishing 4 Churn Dash blocks

Steps 6 & 7 created one Star Block

Steps 8 & 9 resulted in these 2 piles of blocks.

I look forward to finishing this Mystery....

Wonder what the final pattern going to be?

What a lovely package in the mail!

I won a blog drawing at Diana and Me
and my package came in the mail today!

Isn't it the nicest purse and buttons!

Thank you so much, Amy, for sharing your talents with me!

I also received a wonderful gift
from my blog friend Ann
who is celebrating her blog anniversary.
It also came with yummy chocolate
which disappeared quickly!

I love the blogging World.....
such creative and generous people!

2 of 12 Fabric Stash Reports

I am enjoying doing my stash report
only once per month, instead of weekly.
It's like a little game each time I sew.
I want to see the number on my
whiteboard go higher and higher!

Fabric in during February: 0 yards
Fabric in during 2012: 0 yards

Fabric used during February: 7 yards
Fabric used during 2012: 14 yards

I was aiming for 8-9 yards per month,
but I know I will be making up
some yardage soon because I have
a few quilts almost finished...
yards of binding...

How are you doing?

Teaching the next generation

My daughter teaches a class for the
10 and 11 year old girls at her Church.
It's called Achievement Days.

Every other month they try to do
a charity project with the girls
where they do service for others
while learning a skill.

This month, I taught them about
basic quilt piecing.
I made quilt tops, which the girls tied.

My daughter and 3 of the girls.

2nd quilt with 4 of the girls.

I used up some of my scraps
with the Wonder Blocks pattern.

Super fast and a little addicting piecing the Wonder Blocks.

I've started another quilt using the Wonder Blocks
in Red, white, blue and yellow scraps
to donate to Quilts of Valor.

Yeah for stash busting!

Friday Finish

I am at home recovering from pneumonia,
so little sewing, but lots of
knitting and crocheting, going on here.

Knit Block #6

The pattern is called Columns.

I am working on a multiple month
charity project for the NICU
at a local hospital.

One of the items I am crocheting is preemie hats:

The top and middle hat are for 2-3 lb babies.
The bottom hat is for 3-4lb babies.

I got the free patterns from ravelry.
It's been a great project for when
you are laying around the house coughing.

What are you working on?

Two Friday Finishes to share

I missed posting last week (again)
so I am posting my finishes
for both weeks together

Last week was knit block #4

called Pebbles Stripe

and this week was knit block #5

called Bubbles.

I have done alot of charity sewing too,
but none of the projects are completely done,
so I can't call them Finishes.

How are you doing with your creating goals?
