Elephants...a family tradition

Back in the 1920's my Grandmother
designed a stuffed Elephant pattern.
She was trying to win a sewing contest.
I think she came in third and won $5
(at least that's the family legend)

She started making an elephant for each new family baby...

and a family tradition was begun!

Pictured is my daughter's E elephant I made in the 1980's
next to my elephant made by my Mom in the 1960's
They have both been well loved...and need repairs.

I have made a Elephant for Granddaughter May 2011
and one is cut out for Granddaughter June 2011.
Unfortunately, I can't show them to you.
My daughters both read my blog.

Thought I would throw in a shot of Boomer the cat.
