First "I like" post of 2019,,,,
let the positivity flow....
I like Blogland
I like having access to all sorts of
blogs to read and learn by...so many
different people out there sharing
their loves and lives.
Most blogs I follow are related to:
fabric, quilting, knitting, homemaking
skills, travel, reading, positive thoughts
I had lunch this last week with a
blog friend, Deanna, from
I had been following her blog for
quite a while and we had emailed
back and forth....realized we lived
not to far from one another.
We had lunch, fabric shopping and
talked for quite a while.
I like doing family history-genealogy
I am an adopted person who meet
some of my biological people nearly
20 years ago. I was given some info
about grandparents and half siblings
and became interested in the World
of Family History.
(paternal grandmother...I have her eyes)
It is like an on-going mystery...you
find that your grandparents lived
in one area, but their parents were
born somewhere else. You can track
the life history of an individual with kids
and marriages and careers and
even deaths. I love History, so
genealogy is fun for me.
I like sleeping in....
I know, a strange item to have on my
list, but there it is...
I have sleeping problems...have for
many years. I am trying to get my
body on a natural sleep schedule.
The doctor recommended I try
sleeping when I feel like it for
a couple of weeks, instead of
trying to stay on a strict schedule.
So...I have been sleeping in...
I like the Rose Parade
We have the tradition of watching the
Rose Parade from Pasadena, California
every New Years Day.
When I was a kid, we went to see the
parade live. One year we sat in the
stands in front of the Bank of America
building (my brother worked there).
Another year, my dad put pads on the
tops of 6 foot ladders and we sat
on them...great view over the
heads of the crowds.
I like Mermaids
and I like this beach photo
my child sent me.

I loved your mermaid photo... I like them too, I've done 2 big mermaid quilts even.
sleep... restorative and healing, and illusive. I think women have a hard time turning off. The image you showed was so very pretty too. Your grand was beautiful... I want to be able to say, sometime this year, that I found some info on my adoption or birth family.
My husband and I work on our genealogy a lot, and it is fascinating! History takes on more meaning when you find your place in it. Loved that mermaid on the beach - that was so sweet of your child to do!
What a great mermaid photo! Huzzah for blogland. :-) I totally forgot to tune in the rose parade. It was one of my favorite things to do on New Years morning. Happy New Year!
Great list of likes and the mermaid is awesome.
Love your likes!!! I rarely get to sleep in but I wish I could more often! Love the mermaid!!! Hugs!
