Back in the Saddle again

Now that the weather has cooled off,
I am feeling much more energetic
and ready to get back to a regular schedule.

This slow Sunday, I am stitching
on my Trip Around the World quilt.

This is a current photo taken at my
quilt guild meeting about 2 weeks ago.
Not a great photo, but you can see
the size...it is a little larger than a Queen.

This is a project that has been going on
for about 2 years now. Hand sewing 2 inch
squares take a long time....

My creating plans this week:

-Add borders to Red and White quilt

-Make backing for Red and White quilt

-Take Red and White quilt to quilter

-Sew Circa 2016 blocks

What are your plans for the week?

I know all too well the slow nature of hand quilting, but I do it anyway. There is some deep satisfaction to it, and I feel connected to ancient grandmothers somehow. Your quilt is beautiful!

Way to stick with it! The cool weather and football are helping me get into my sewing room too.

Mine ended up at 64 inches, how wonderful that you are enjoying it enough to make a bedsize quilt. I made mine out of ugly fabrics from my stash to use them up and was surprised that I like the results. Hope to start quilting it soon! Good luch with yours.

I'm glad your back! Your Trip Around the World quilt is amazing -- and huge! I adore the retro couture in your blog header -- how fun! :)
