Last UFO finish of 2011

I finished my last UFO for my 2011 list.

This is a dresden plate quilt I found at a yard sale many years ago.
The original maker had pieced all the plates
and appliqued one of the 20 blocks.
I finished the applique by hand,
sent it to my wonderful quilter,
and finished off the binding by hand.

I finished 6 of my 12 listed UFO's this year.
I hope I do better with my 2012 list!

November UFO project

I checked over at Judy's  blogs today
and the number to finish on my UFO list
for the month of November is #3.

My number 3 is my Christmas scrappy 9-patch quilt.
I have listed that I want to get all the blocks made.

I didn't finish my October UFO.
Never even got it out to start quilting.

Maybe I'll do better with the 9-patch blocks.
We are having rain/snow off and on this whole week.
Good excuse to stay in and sew!

Sept UFO Finish

I am taking part in Judy's 2011 UFO project.

September's project was #11 on the list,
which you can see completed in this post

For October, I am completing #5 on my list:

I made this MANY moons ago, when I did alot of piecing.
It's more of a country themed wall hanging, which my house is not,
so I will probably pass it onto someone else when it's done.

Another project for my October 2011 to-do list!

A Vintage Finish

I finished my monthly UFO for the UFO project over at

I purchased a box of fabric at the yard sale
about 10 years ago for $10.

The original owner/quilters had sewn
the Dresden Plates together, plus
appliqued two of them to the muslin blocks.
I finished the applique of the other
14 blocks plus had the top quilted.

The photo above is of the back
and no, the pink isn't really that dark
(bad phone camera photo)

I think I will be keeping this quilt for myself!

UFO #11 and baby clothes

I am participating in
Judy's 2011 UFO project.
She choose project #11 for the month of September.
#11 on my list is:

I have had it quilted and I need to finish the binding.

I also finished a couple of dresses for
granddaughter E. She needed a couple more Summery dresses
to get thru until the weather turns cooler.

First up,

My favorite Simplicity pattern of all time.
I made this pattern over and over when my kids were little.
I found a new copy that I am now using for the Grand kids.

Second,

is this easy stitch n' save.
It worked up really easy and fast.

I am thinking about joining the Rhinestones and Telephones
Fall essentials sew along
that will be running for September and October.
My Fall wardrobe is very lacking.

Now to make a sewing list...

Finished and claimed!

I finished another quilt

and it has been claimed!

The photo isn't too great.
The border and binding is a yellow print.
This was the mystery project from the Utah Quilt Guild website a couple of years ago.

Of course, it is an original,
because I have the habit of mistakenly sewing a piece or block
just a 1/4-1/2 turn off and invent a new pattern.

Onto the next binding....

June's UFO...#8

My UFO #8 is

the challenge fabric for the
Utah State Fair 2011 quilt challenge.

I purchased it last year when I went to the fair with a friend.
She has entered the quilt challenge before,
but this will be my first time.

I need to design, make, quilt and bind a mini quilt.
The turn in date for judging is the 1st of September.

Hhhmmmm...what can I do with this fabric?

Mine....mine....mine!

Another quilt finish
and I am keeping this one...
it's mine, mine, mine!!!!

The main block is called a crazy 9-patch.
It a regular 9-patch block (3 rows of 3 squares each)
but then it s sliced up and resewn together.
Of course, it is done in all reds (with a little black)

I'm going to name it "Dressed to the crazy red Nines"
Slept under it last night....very nice and cozy during the thunderstorms.

Yeah...another finish!

May UFO

I signed up and have been doing some work
on my UFO's for Judy's 2011 UFO project.

Unfortunately, I have yet to fully complete my monthly project.

Judy pulled the #9 for May-
my #9 is my scrappy stars and stripes wall hanging,
It needs t be quilted and finished.

Maybe if I get it quilted quickly, I can add the binding
while I am sitting around the house
waiting fr granddaughters to be born.

March UFO

Judy has picked #1 off of the UFO list for March, so

I will be working on my pink 1930-50's project.
I would like to at least get the top done,
and I'll quilt it at another time.

(I guess I better see what the Dr says first about my elbow)

What is your current UFO project?
