Finally the borders are on the quilt!

I have been setting the same sewing goals for weeks now-

"Put borders on the Christmas in July quilt"

The borders are on and guess what.... I have decided I really don't like this quilt!
Sticking it away in the "to be quilted/donated/I don't know" pile

Sometimes you just need to put a project away to really appreciate it!

Creativity block....

I'm stuck...can't figure out how to finish this quilt top.

My quilt chapter is having a
"Christmas in July" contest on July 13th

I had decided to use up the multiple
red fat quarters I received from my
quilt chapter ladies as a thank you last year
at the end of my chapter presidency.

I also decided to use up other fabric
out of my enormous fabric stash.

It's not working...don't know where to go
with this pattern.
I have 55 blocks made.
I would need one more block if I
laid it out in a 7 by 8 block top.

The blocks are just going to have to sit
for a hour(or day or weekend}
while I figure this out!

Christmas in July project

My Syracuse (Utah) Quilt Chapters summer Quilt competition is titled
"Christmas in July"
Each quilter is to make a Christmas related quilt-wallhanging-table runner.
When I retired as Chapter President last December, all the ladies got together
and gave me a huge gift bag of red fabric fat quarters!
I love the color red!!!
I pulled out this pinwheel pattern with template that I also got last Christmas
My background fabric is a cream small leaf print.
I have also purchased a tan/brownish circle print, as well as a med-dark green leaf print.
As you can tell, I am not a traditional Christmas person, since I will be using all shades of red.
Looking forward to seeing how this all comes together!
