Stash Report

It has been a whole month since
I last made my fabric stash report.

And, I actually sewed this month!

I made 4 dresses for the granddaughters,
plus a baby blanket for charity.

Fabric in: 1 yard

Fabric out: 9.5 yards

Fabric used YTD: 22 yards

I am still so very far away from my
year goal of 100 yards. Guess I better
go back into the sewing room!

How are you doing?

Day 15: Helpers

I had a different post for today,
but after what happen in Boston,
I'll just leave you with the wise
words of Mr. Rogers.

Day 14: Stash Report

First..no changes in the Stash Report.

Second...I did do some sewing this past week,
but it was with others fabric,  so I can
not count it or it was repairing past
projects or clothing.

Hey, at least I finally turned on my machine!

Day 13: Kimball Art Gallery

Today, my daughter and I went
to the kimball art center in Park City (Utah)
to view their current exhibits.

First, it was The Art of the Brick
by Nathan Sawaga.

The brick...Lego's!

Isn't he amazingly creative!

Next: Stephanie Clark's "Dwellings"

All handwork with threads.
And...each dwelling is just a couple
inches tall and wide...teeny tiny!

The last exhibit was called "Geolines"
by Mark Maxiarz
He took photos and stretched the image
out until it formed long lines.
I was not able to take photos of the exhibit.

I love art galleries.
Started attending them as a child
and now I take (drag) my own kids along!

Day 12: On the Needle

After yesterdays crazy day of ER visits,
I did enjoy a couple of hours with
my knit group.

They are so wonderful and helpful.

 I started my first sock

I am glad I had the ladies to
visually show me what to do.

Day 11: Two too many trips to the ER

Today was Emergency Room day for
two of my granddaughters.

Not the type of day I hope to repeat ever!

First, Elise....

She got squished under a trampoline
at the babysitters house.

Result: Buckle break just below the knee.
6-8 weeks in a cast.
She choose purple, since it is her favorite color.

Next, Maddie...

Fell and sliced opened her forehead,
while at the (different) babysitters.

Results: 4 stitches

I told the children I am ordering
a huge roll of bubble wrap.
Going to wrap my grand babies
up nice and safe!

Day 7-Stash busting report

I honestly thought about NOT posting
a stash busting report today, mostly
because I have not sewn in over a month.

Nothing.

Not a stitch!

Fabric in...0 yards

Fabric out...0 yards.

I am still at 13.5 yards used of
a 100 yard goal. Guess I better get
my machine (and creativity) in gear!

I did get a little excited about sewing
again after watching the new sewing show,
The Great British Sewing Bee on YouTube

The competitive part of me wants to see
if I can create an A line skirt in under
4 hours (zipper, darts and lining) and
redo a shirt neck in under an hour.

Could you complete these projects?

Day 6: Spring has arrived

Springtime in Utah can be a little different.

One day it is snowing sideways...

The next day it is sunny and
short sleeve wearing weather.

This afternoon, I spent an hour
replanting house plants I purchased
at the local nursery.

I also planted a new herb planter
for my kitchen with mint, basil,
oregano and lemon balm.

Making plans for the veggie
garden. I am ready for sweet
Summer tomatoes and Fall
pumpkins and Squash!

Day 5: On the Needle

I just checked my blog and my posts
for Days 2-4 have disappeared.
Hhmmmm...where did they go?

Day 5: On the Needle.

I am beginning to learn to knit socks.

I am following the book,
plus the great help from the ladies
in my knit group. I am doing a swatch

I am ready to start the actual sock, I think.

Day 1:Post a photo each day

I have taken on the challenge to
post here each day with a new subject
and photo.

Today's photo:

The aftermath of my daughter
celebrating at the local
India Color of Life festival.

The festival marks the beginning of
Spring and new Life.

They celebrated by throwing
colored chalk into the air...
and at one another...and passing strangers....

She had a wonderful time
and did not even leave a colorful
ring around the tub.

How are you celebrating Spring?
