KCWC 2012 Final Post

I had family issues  come up
at the last minute, so I never posted the
remaining sewing projects from KCWC 2012
So.....
Day 2
I sewed a dress for Granddaughter E's 1st birthday.
Day 3-5, I was busy with family,
so I did lots of crocheting of baby caps
and cutting out of charity clothing
Day 6 was finishing birthday clothing
for Granddaughter E
2 new Summertime tops!
I really enjoyed the KCWC Sewalong
and plan to do it again in the Fall!

April Stash busting report

I think I got my sewing mojo back in swing
during the month of April.

I have sewn Grand children's
and charity children's clothing this month,

Fabric purchased during April: 0 yards
Fabric purchased during 2012: 0 yards

Fabric used during April: 18.5 yards
Fabric donated during April: 10 yards
Fabric used during 2012: 50.5 yards

Yahoo! I am half way towards my 2012 goal
of using 100 yards, and I still have
8 months of sewing to do it!

My stash busting goal for May is to keep sewing
Grandchildren and charity clothing and
use up a large IKEA bag of fabric and
scraps I have designated as Spring/Summer fabrics.

How are you doing?

KCWC sew-a-thon: day1

This is my accomplishment for Day 1 of the sew-a-thon

I shortened the length of the dress,
since it runs very long.

I also crocheted the hat.

Now to plan for Day 2.....

When did my baby grow up?

We celebrated our youngest child's
22nd birthday this week.

When did she grow up so fast?

Oops....bleary camera phone photo....

Dolls from my childhood

Continuing with the great house clean out of 2012,
I tackled some of my personal items today.

When I was a child,
I traveled around the World with my parents.
I loved dolls, so I filled my suitcase
with at least one doll from each country.

Today, I cleaned out those dolls....40 years later.

I have put most up for sale online,
but I am keeping these ones for sentimental reasons,

Left to right:
Doll from Hawaii,
Doll from Africa (a gift from a friend)
Doll from Italy.
Doll from Germany (gift from my brother)

Ready to feel free and airy again in my life.
Much more cleaning out to do....

KCWC-coming soon!

I signed up for

I found it keeps me motivated
when I see all the wonderful projects
fellow sewist are accomplishing!

Come join us!

I'm back...did ya miss me?

Craziness around this house...

Long story, which I will not bore you with
(you're welcome!)

Here are some Grandchildren Easter photos

My twenty-something daughter and her friend
also dyed eggs.

I sewed dresses for all the granddaughters,
but have yet to get photos of them wearing the dresses!
I will eventually....
